| Day 342 Today was a great day. We had breakfast with Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Lilo & Stitch. We spent the rest of the day walking around the park and riding some of the small rides. Eli loved it. It was so awesome to see the magic in his eyes that is Disneyland. This is what life is all about.

| Day 339 I had every intention in the world of updating Monday after Eli's appointment but we've been so busy these last 2 days have flown by. We're getting all packed up to go to Disneyland tomorrow morning! Eli can't wait to go, he's really excited. Dana and I both got a week off to go with him. Her parents are coming for a couple days as well. She has a cousin that lives in the Anaheim area so we're meeting up with her too, it should be fun. I feel a little bit guilty that we can't take all of the kids but one day when Eli is in great health and we have the ability to take all of them we'll all go. Right now Tim can't miss any more school than he has already missed from being sick or what he will miss for hockey this season. He decided to stick with hockey and we didn't feel right about only taking a few kids and not others so this trip is going to be all about Eli. He's very excited and I love every minute of the smiles we've gotten out of him. It looks like I get off easy this year since Dana and I will spend our anniversary at Disneyland. All I really have to do is remember which day and remember to say something to her on the right day. I know there will be tons and tons of pictures from this trip but I can't promise that I'll put them all up here... in fact, I'll only put a small number of my favourite shots we get. If you want to see all of them send me a message and I'll tell you how to find me on facebook. I'll just dump all the pictures onto there like I usually do. The more important side of what's going on with him now is that his scans came back looking good. The CT showed that the residual tumour pieces left in his liver have shrunk, so it looks like the chemo he's on is doing great for him. His AFP levels have dropped again to 52! It's not down to 1 yet but it's a big drop and we're happy to see it going down. His counts are good and he's full of energy. What more could we really ask for?
My K9 partner Gordie had his physical exam this morning after we got off our shift from work. He's almost 6 years old so he's about at that age most of our K9s begin to retire. Right now he's our second oldest pup still on the job. I hate the thought of having to go to work without him but it looks like we'll be working together for at least a little while longer. It looks like he's starting to develop a little bit of arthritis in his hips. Not entirely surprising for how hard he's pushed and how hard he pushes himself. We can easily manage it for now but if it becomes a problem we'll think about retirement.
Katie just walked in from her riding lesson not too long ago. Dana took her this week. She had a lot of fun with the horses. Dana said she did great paying attention to what she was doing while she was riding the pony but she did not do so great attention-wise when she was brushing him.
Tayo & Marko - their teacher sent this to us from school. I love the tongues sticking out in concentration, it was too funny not to post
"What do you mean we're not going?"

| Day 336
Eli's doing great. He feels good and he's full of energy. He has a clinic appointment tomorrow morning so we'll see what his counts are like. I have a feeling they're pretty good. He also has a CT scan in the morning. We're hoping that the remaining tumour has shrunk. I'll be sure to update tomorrow afterward.
This morning when I got home from work we had a short funeral for the devil cat. I hate seeing Dana upset, I understand she loved the cat but I just don't understand how or why. I thought for sure that by now I'd be in the doghouse but she said she was proud of me behaving myself and not making any jokes. Trust me, it's been hard not to.
Tim's coach just sent out the finalized schedule for the hockey season. It's going to be a CRAZY season. They have 47 games left this season between now and February 20th. We're going to have to travel pretty far this season. We're going everywhere from locally to Calgary to Anaheim, California, to Rapid City, South Dakota. There's also a couple games against a few teams from the Salt Lake City area of Utah. We're going there for a weekend and one of the teams is coming up here this year too. We played them last year in a tournament in Montana. It'll be a fun season but it'll be tough figuring out how to get him where when.
Katie is looking forward to her riding lesson on Wednesday. I'm so happy she's enjoying it and she's doing great with the lessons. She's doing so well with paying attention and staying calm(ish) while she's around the horses. I'm hoping she does better and better over the next few months and that she keeps enjoying it. I'd love for her to make progress in her everyday life from these lessons.
As if we weren't busy enough, Dougie starts soccer this week. His first practice/game is Thursday afternoon. It's set up similar to spring hockey but it's winter soccer. The seasons are just switched. They play inside with fewer kids on the field because there's less space and it gives the kids more playing time and more time each game to have possession of the ball. They play the first half hour working on skills then they split off and play a small game for the second half. I think he'll have a great time, he really loves soccer.

| The evil cat is no more. Dana found her cat Snowball or Snowbell or something like that (lovingly nicknamed shitball) face-down in the kitty littler this evening. I feel awful that she's so upset but at the same time I'm relieved that it's gone. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against cats but this particular one was pure evil. My feet and legs are completely scared up from it sneaking up from behind me and scratching and biting. If it were just me I could deal with it but the cat went after my kids. The only people the cat would show any respect to were Dana and her sister. I just don't understand it at all. We finally compromised and Dana agreed to have the cat declawed back in March. The cat went nuts and cut my face up, tore Dougie's face up, and tore a chunk of skin off the vet's arm. I don't want to sound like a jerk or an animal hater or anything but I couldn't be happier that the cat is gone. One of the best parts about this is that I didn't have anything to do with it. But I do have to say the absolute best part is that I can now put my feet on the floor in my own house without having to worry about losing a chunk of skin out of my leg.
Old picture but yes, it really is as evil as it looks
