Day 205

Eli's having a rough round of chemo this time.  He was up sick all night and he spent most of the day getting sick.  His liver enzymes and AFP levels are still quite high as they were right before the round started.  Oncology believes the mass in Eli's liver is a tumour, not related to the leukemia, but possibly to the Wilms, or some other type of childhood cancer.  The tumour is too close to being inoperable at the moment to try surgery, it takes up too much of his liver.  His chemo drugs have changed and he's back on intense chemo in hopes of shrinking the tumour down to being more safely operable.  We're hoping that by the end of this round or next it will shrink down and it can be removed and typed.  We're still trying to read as much as we can but I still don't know much about what it might be.  But we do know that oncology believes the tumour is what has caused his jaundice and high AFP levels.
